What's the best size and quality image to use for a background?

For best results, the background image we recommend is 1680×1050 pixels at 72 dpi formatted as a .png filetype.


If the image you have doesn’t fit these dimensions, there are a number of editing tools you can use. A couple of our favorites are Aviary and Skitch. Read about more in our blog post here.
