How do I connect my GoDaddy domain?

Already own a domain through GoDaddy?

Great! With about.me Pro, you can bring your GoDaddy domain to about.me and connect it to your about.  me    page  in just 5 simple steps.

Step 0

If you want to skip 5 steps and connect your domain in just one simple step, use the Godaddy connect  button  .  If not, move on to steps 1-5!

Step 1

Log in to your GoDaddy account at godaddy.com  .
If you're already logged in, simply click the person icon up in the right-hand corner next to the cart icon and go to "Manage domains."

Step 2

You'll see a few tabs across the top -- click on "DNS" and then "Manage Zones" in the drop-down menu. Type in the domain you're connecting to your about. me  page and hit enter.

Step 3

In your DNS Management, you'll see your domain at the top, and "Records" below. Here's where things can get a little bit tricky, so follow along with the example below and make sure all of your values match what you see in the recording.

A. For your A record, replace whatever is under "Value" with 52.2.64.1 (👈copy and paste that number just as it is -- be sure there are no extra periods  at  the end).

B. For your CNAME record, just make sure "www" is under "Name" and "@" is under "Value." Also be sure that your Nameservers are set to default. If you see custom here, click to change the selection to default.

(Pay particularly close attention to the CNAME and A Records -- there should be no other IP addresses or records in this view)

Step 4

Head back to your about.me page to check to make sure everything's connected properly.

Step 5

You're all set to go! Go to your new domain and check out how beautiful your new page is 😎If it's not working yet, go eat a delicious sandwich, take a walk, pet your dog, and then come back 😉 Just a reminder that your domain may take up to 48 hours to fully connect.
