Already own a domain through Bluehost?
Great! With about.me Pro, you can bring your Bluehost domain to about.me and connect it to your about.me page in just 5 simple steps.
Step 1
Log in to your Bluehost account at bluehost.com. If you're already logged in, simply click the domains tab on the left. (Or click here to go straight there.)
Step 2
Under "Domains" you'll see a list of options. Click "Zone Editor" at the bottom of that list. (Or click here to go straight there.)
Step 3
In your DNS Zone Editor, you'll see your domain under "Select a Domain" and boxes under "Add DNS Record." Here's where things can get a little bit tricky, so follow along with the example below and make sure all of your values match what you see in the recording.
A. For "Host Record," type @ in the empty box and keep the "Type" as "A."
B. Copy and paste 52.2.64.1 for "Points To" and click the "Add Record" button. (Copy and paste that number just as it is - be sure there are no extra periods at the end.)
C. After your A Record saves, you're going to create a CNAME Record. Type "www" in the box for the "Host Record."
D. Click the drop-down option for "Type" and choose CNAME.
E. Type your Bluehost domain in the "Points To" box - double-check your spelling! Then, click the "Add Record" button.
Pay particularly close attention to the CNAME and A Records - there should be no other IP addresses or records in this view.
Your Host Records should look like the ones in the screenshot below but with your domain in the CNAME Record Value.
Step 4
Head back to your about.me page to check to make sure everything's connected properly.
Step 5
You're all set! Go to your new domain and check out how beautiful your new page is. Just a reminder that your domain may take up to 48 hours to fully connect.
